Certified translation German-English: Certificate of Conduct
You will receive your certified translation of a German certificate of conduct into English. The official translation will be produced by a sworn translator for English in Germany.
How to get the German certificate of conduct
Applications for a private certificate of conduct must be made to the registration authority in whose district the person making the application is registered. Those who are exempt from the obligation to register must file the application with the registration authority in whose district they are habitually resident. This also applies to those with no fixed place of residence. Applications cannot be filed directly with the Federal Office of Justice. The person making the application must prove their identity and, if applicable, their power of representation.
Individuals who are exempt from the requirement to register must submit an application to the registration agency in the district where they usually reside. This applies even if they do not have a permanent residence.
A private certificate of conduct is only provided to the individual who requests it.
Apostille and legalization
In order to verify the authenticity of official German documents abroad, they are authenticated with an apostille or legalization.

It may be neccesary, that the apostille also be translated. Please check in advance with the office, where you need to submit the translation to, as to whether you need a translation of the apostille. You can easily include the certified translation of the apostille in your order. Simply select the product “Sworn translation apostille” in the store.
Authentication of the certified translation
We are sworn translators in Germany and therefore the translation may need to be authenticated in order to be recognized abroad.
Just additionally order our authentication service if you want us to take care of it. When placing your order with the authentication service, please specify the country you need the certified translation for. The authentication procecudure may differ depending on whether the target country is a member of the Hague Convention and therefor has abolished the requirement of legalization for public documents.
Processing time and shipping
The processing time from the time of the order is max. 4 business days. If you additionally need an apostille or an authentication of the translation, you may need to allow for a little more time.

The authentication procedure by the regional court takes about 2 weeks.
